Hubbert Smith

Working within the Samsung Memory Business Unit, Mr. Smith focuses on the enterprise/data center markets and ecosystems for SSD and memory products. In previous roles, he contributed to creation of the NAS market, fail-over clustering, storage replication and Big Data solutions. In addition, Mr. Smith contributed to the Serial AT industry-wide standard, for which he wrote the original 13 Serial ATA use cases including applying Serial ATA for enterprise storage. Also, he was directly responsible for most of Western Digital’s success in enterprise storage. Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University. Currently, he serves on the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) board of directors. He is a published author and patent holder.
