On May 24, at our annual press event, Samsung Foundry senior vice president, Hong Hao, discussed adding 10nm to our foundry process roadmap. This is Samsung’s 3rd generation FinFET transistor and we see this node as a viable solution for those working on mobile, consumer electronics or networking chip designs.
We have a full PDK and silicon-verified IP available, and are, currently, running MPWs now for our lead customers. With mass production scheduled from late 2016 we are excited about this next phase of our foundry business. Early designs activities have already sparked some interesting discussions.
I look forward to sharing more details regarding our foundry business with you as we continue our journey.
Are you thinking about starting a 10nm FinFET design? If so, we like to hear from you. Check out my video blog about the topic here.
